Experts Warn August 'Perfect Time' For Putin Europe Expansion

Critics are warning that this August could be the perfect time for President Putin to try to consolidate his hold on Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.
 
Russia is currently exercising troops in the disputed region and just yesterday began launching airstrikes from an Iranian base in a demonstration of International power and influence. 
 
Russian Tupolev long range bombers, launched from a base in Western Iran yesterday.
 
It’s believed up to six of the Tupolev Tu-22M3 and some Sukhoi-34 strike fighters hit targets in Aleppo, Idlib and Deir al-Zour provinces yesterday. It’s an intensification of the Russian air campaign over Syria.
 
Some analysts believe with the US distracted by elections and the EU focussed on Brexit, now Russia could also choose to consolidate influence closer to home. 
 
Fighting in Eastern Ukraine has increased in the last few weeks, and Russia has chosen this moment to launch exercises in Crimea refreshing Chemical, Biological and Nuclear capabilities.
 
In both Syria and Ukraine President Putin has proven himself to be one step ahead of the West, and in the past NATO has been guilty of underestimating Russian resolve. 
 
How NATO chooses to respond to Russia in Ukraine and in Syria is the big test for the West.
