Forces Children More Likely To Opt Out Of Uni

Four in ten children from service families are failing to continue in to higher education, even though they have the grades to do so.

New research launched today, and funded by the MoD, found that despite achieving similar academic levels to their civilian counterparts, fewer military children are going on to study at University.

Growing up with one parent in the military can provide a wide range of challenges for children.

These include potentially moving every two years, changing schools, and making new friends, among others.

Service children have to learn to be independent from a young age.

Counter-intuitively, although this should help them flourish at university, more of them are choosing not to go.

Forces TV have looked into the issue.
