Meet The 84-Year-Old Biker Veteran
Report contains flash photography
He may be 84, but Army veteran and charity fundraiser John 'Jockie' Reid still loves going out on his motorcycle trike.
But for the last month, it's been hidden away from him, getting a special makeover.
Some looks are just priceless. Surrounded by his friends and family veteran Jockie Reid is beaming as he's reunited with his 3 wheeled beast.
For the last month, his bike has been squirrelled away from him while it got a very special makeover. Once blue, now black and red, and looking brand new.
Jockie was once a Royal Highland Fusilier and to this day continues to help military charities. He also supports the choir Sing in the City whose logo inspired the bikes new paintwork.
Jockie's dedication to fundraising was what drove two serving soldiers to roll up their sleeves and renovate his beloved trike.
So many little touches make this bike special – recognising places Jockie has been or served. Like the footplate made from wood used in the trench system at Glencorse Barracks, trenches he once trained in. And of course – he's got a new nickname too.
The motorcycle community and veterans have always had close ties, and with his new wheels, Jockie's looking forward to joining them on the road.
