Mission Critical: Britain's Role In Fight Against Daesh

The Syrian government and the main opposition and rebel umbrella group say they will comply with a ceasefire agreement drawn up by the US and Russia, which is due to come into effect at midnight on Friday.

It comes as the Ministry of Defence (MoD) releases new footage of recent attacks against so-called Islamic State. The MoD says it shows a strike by a Tornado patrol on Thursday.

Using Brimstone missiles they destroyed a large engineering vehicle being used to repair a Daesh-controlled oilfield.

Colonel Steve Warren is a US Army spokesman for the coalition fighting Daesh.

He told our reporter Tim Cooper that the group has already lost around 40% of the ground it held in Iraq and about a tenth in Syria.

When asked how much of a problem Russia is he said:
"The Russians are a problem. Their strikes in our view have been reckless and indiscriminate.
"They're executing what we believe to be a strategically shortsighted operation to support, back and generally help the regime of Bashar al-Assad"
