Remembering The First Army Bomb Disposal Teams

A unique guided tour of London’s Blitz history has been launched to commemorate the courage of the first Army bomb disposal teams, who risked their lives in the Second World War.

75 years ago just a few dozen soldiers from the Royal Engineers were responsible for tackling the growing menace of live weapons being discovered in the rubble after German air raids.

Theirs has been described as the most 'dangerous and lonely' job in the military.

Now, modern-day ordnance disposal specialists are leading people in the footsteps of those early-day heroes.
