Tri-Service

Scottish Battalion's Croatian Adventure

At the Red Earth training area in Knin, Army reservists from 7 SCOTS are being put through their paces on Exercise Sava Star - fighting alongside regular Croatian troops.

But for one day of their two-week training camp, things are a little bit different.

Troops are taking part in a taster of challenging pursuits - cycling, caving, hill walking and scuba diving - designed to give them a little insight into the adventurous training courses they could take part in through the Army Reserve.

Although it may seem like a bit of a holiday, activities like these have long been supported by the Armed Forces.

There are lessons troops can take away for their military service, and it's also a chance to build morale.

It will soon be back to the training area for 7 SCOTS but they come away from Croatia with new skills and increased confidence, ready to head back to their civilian jobs.
