The Army Sport Control Board has announced more sports will be authorised to resume from 17 May as coronavirus restrictions continue to be eased.

Rugby, swimming and athletics are some of the sports that are back on the Army competition calendar.

Army Rugby League has already announced an Inter Unit festival for 9 June which will be their first big event since forces sport was stopped due to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Army cricket will be hosting a women's Inter Corps tournament on 21 May after the sport's return was given the green light earlier this month.

Netball is also expected to return to action from next week.

Despite all the good news, it is bad news for Army squash as the individual and Inter Unit Championships have been postponed until 2022.
