Army volleyball dominate at first-ever beach Crown Services tournament

The British Army put in a dominant performance as they won the first-ever beach Crown Services tournament in Weymouth.

The competition sees teams from all three Armed Forces, as well as emergency services, compete for glory on the sand.

Usually, the Crown Services are held on the court but in 2026, organisers found a twist with a beach version of the tournament in Weymouth.

It meant pairs of competitors were involved, rather than a full team, leading to more Army wins including triumph in the women's competition.

The men's competition was guaranteed to be an Army win after two Army teams made the final and overall, they picked up the tournament trophy.
