British Army boxers reign supreme following victory over Bahrain Royal Guard

The British Army boxing team have beaten the Bahrain Royal Guard in one of the military's most hotly contested forces fight nights of the year at Catterick Garrison.
After a shock defeat to the Bahrain Royal Guard in 2024, the British Army team were motivated and eager to redeem themselves following last year's disappointing result.
Following three support bouts, the first official fight got underway with Private Mohamad Medhi Sahak beating Craftsman Zac Kaminski by a split decision, giving the Bahrain Royal Guard their first win of the evening.
The British Army bounced back in the Light Welterweight division with Lance Corporal Leon Moulds easily dispatching Lance Corporal Prakash Limbu Ljam by a unanimous decision to level the scoreboard at 1-1.
The only female bout of the night was contested between Corporal Felicity Johnstone for the British Army and Sergeant Maryam Khamis for the Bahrain Royal Guard, with Cpl Johnstone taking the win by a split decision.

Private Dylan Swales then continued the British Army's excellent run of form in the Welterweight division, beating his opponent Private Abdullah Alabdullah by a split decision, putting the British Army 3-1 up after four bouts.
In the heavyweight division, the fight between Lance Corporal Jack Lorja and Private Israel Okafor had to be stopped early due to an accidental clash of heads.
That short-lived bout ended with Pte Okafor taking the win by a split decision, giving the Bahrain Royal Guard a lifeline going into the final bout.
The penultimate bout of the night, the super heavyweight, saw Guardsman Joshua Young-Hastings beat Private Augustine Issac by a unanimous decision.
With the results ratified, the British Army snatch back the win they lost a year ago, winning by 4-2 ahead of the Bahrain Royal Guard.

LCpl Prakash Limbu was awarded the title of Most Gallant Boxer, and LCpl Leon Moulds was awarded the title of Best Boxer of the evening.
Reacting to his win, LCpl Moulds told BFBS Sport: "It was a tough battle, and we expected it to be a tough battle.
"Everyone was in good form, so to be able to get that was really nice.
"A win only lasts about 30 seconds – and then it'll be on to the next battle in a couple of weeks."
