British Army shooter sets Olympics target after good form sees rise in national rankings
British Army shooting is one of the strongest sports in the service, with a number of competitors aiming for a spot at the 2028 Olympic Games.
One of those is Corporal Stephen Mitchell who has surged up the national rankings after fantastic form in 2024.
Cpl Mitchell is part of the Troops to Target programme and is set to feature at a number of high-profile competitions this year to boost his Olympic hopes.

"I'm currently number two in GB, so I look at the number one and see what he's doing," said the Army competitor.
"He shot some big scores recently so, straight away, I was on the phone to figure out 'what did he do, what did he change, what is the mental process?'
"How can I take what he did and put it into my own shooting?"
Cpl Mitchell has the chance to take on the very best at major tournaments, including the World Championships in Cairo later in the year, but the Olympics is the main aim.
He said: "Olympics is my focus even if I'm number two. I can still get there being number two.
"That's the ultimate goal."
