Armour Centre Win Third Consecutive Army Minor Units Cup

Armour Centre have won their third consecutive Army Minor Units Cup trophy in Bicester.

A 3-0 win over 34 Field Hospital meant they have again retained their title.

A brilliant second-half performance was capped with goals by Danny Hulme, Mark Greenhalgh and Garry Roberts for the win.

It was a close contest in the first half with both sides making chances.

Gary Adamson fired wide when put through in on goal for 34 Field Hospital while up the other end, Ben Bickley's long-range strike was saved well by Darren Rendell.

In the second half, Armour Centre manager Sean Everest made some changes and it paid off in minutes.

Luke Keen spread it wide for David Jones and his low cross was converted at the back post by Hulme.

A scrappy goal from Mark Greenhalgh helped Armour Centre on their way to victory.

Steve McDonald went closest to an equaliser for 34 Field Hospital but his shot was palmed away by Ryan Humphries.

With minutes to go, the holders grabbed their second goal.

The 34 Field Hospital defence failed to clear from a corner and it was Greenhalgh who powered in from close range.

A poor goal to concede for the losers but Armour Centre's third goal was spectacular.

Roberts let fly from more than 25 yards and his shot flew into the top corner to make it three.

With that, Armour Centre were victors once again and a triple crown of Army Minor Units Cup wins was complete.
