British Army U23s retain championship on goals scored after dramatic win over Royal Navy

The British Army under-23s football team have retained the Inter Services title in dramatic fashion after a 3-2 win over the Royal Navy in Winchester.
After the RAF's 1-0 win over the Navy in Havant and a 0-0 draw between the Army and the Air Force last week, Keith Emmerson's team knew that a win by two goals or more would see them keep the trophy.
Kobe Jones scored a brilliant brace in the first half but the Navy hit back each time through goals from Louis Quinn and their team captain George Rogers.

The 2-2 scoreline would have meant that the RAF would win a first championship at this level since 2020 but the reigning champions would have the final say.
Thomas Nesbitt, a Royal Signals soldier who has already represented the UK Armed Forces team, hit the winner to keep the title in Army hands for the second consecutive year.
