Daryl White announced as permanent head coach of UK Armed Forces Football

Corporal Daryl White has been announced as the head coach of the UK Armed Forces men's football team on a permanent basis, UK Armed Forces Football have announced.
Cpl White's appointment comes after he took on the role of caretaker manager of the team in February after his predecessor Flight Sergeant Dyfan Pierce announced his retirement after 22 years of service.
The Royal Air Force corporal had previously held the position of assistant coach.
On accepting his appointment, Cpl White told UK Armed Forces Football that becoming head coach on a permanent basis is "the greatest honour", adding "it's a very proud day for me and my family".
"This is a wonderful opportunity to continue working with the very best tri-service players and this incredible staff.
"There is a lot of work ahead of us as we continue to grow UK Armed Forces Football on and off the pitch.
"I would like to thank the board for giving me this opportunity and thank every single person who has supported me and will continue to support me on this journey."

Cpl White will have a busy schedule ahead as he turns his attention to preparing the UK Armed Forces men's football team on upcoming international fixtures later this year.
As caretaker manager, he presided over the UK Armed Forces men's 4-1 victory over the Irish Defence Forces to win the Friendship Trophy earlier this month.
The team are set to play the German Bundeswehr in October before they head to the south of France to play in the Kentish Cup in December.
