7 Regiment RLC Score Wonder Goal In Army Major Units Cup Triumph
An amazing goal from Owen Karau stole the show as 7 Regiment RLC won the 2020 Army Major Units Cup.
Karau's strike was the third goal in a 4-0 victory for 7 Regiment over 3 RSME.
Matthew Green, Rawlins Ferdinand and Sean Woolley were also on the scoresheet as 7 Regiment triumphed in Aldershot.
7 RLC reached the final with a 3-0 win over 8 Battalion REME in Colne and were in front here inside five minutes.
Matthew Green took advantage of a loose ball in the penalty area to fire low across goalkeeper Dean Love from a tight angle.
Green then turned provider for their second goal mid-way through the first half.
His free-kick was bundled by Rawlins inside the six-yard box.
7 Regiment looked comfortable but 3 RSME had a great chance to get back into game.
Luke Cairney usually plays as a goalkeeper for the Army and UK Armed Forces teams, but he missed his chance as a striker here when he headed well wide from close range.

In the second half, the leaders went from strength to strength, thanks to one of the best goals in Army cup history.
Karau went for it from close to the half-way line and caught Love off his line with a brilliant strike.
The celebrations were wild as 7 Regiment knew the trophy was closing in.
All the needed was a final goal in added time to finish off the match.
Karau played in Woolley and he cooly rifled the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 4-0.
It was Woolley himself who had the honour of lifting the trophy and crowning 7 Regiment RLC as 2020 Army Major Units Cup winners.
