Major Joey Collins appointed new head coach of UK Armed Forces men's football team

The new UK Armed Forces men's football head coach has been revealed as Major Joey Collins from Army FA.
Maj Collins is one of the best-regarded figures in forces football and won the British Army Sport Lifetime Achievement Award last year.
As a player in the military, he became the youngest to appear for the UK Armed Forces at the age of 16 before having a lengthy career on the pitch with 179 appearances for the Army and 50 for UKAF.

After hanging up the boots, Maj Collins had successful spells in charge of the Army senior men's team and reserve team, which included a number of Inter Services wins.
His work within the Army FA was recognised when a trophy was commissioned in 2023 for the annual Army v Navy under-23s Inter Services, named in his honour.
He replaces Corporal Daryl White in the role after the RAF coach won back-to-back Kentish Cups in 2023 and 2024.
Maj Collins adds some Army flavour to the UKAF role after 10 years of RAF personnel in charge with the fruitful runs of Nick De-Long, Dyfan Pierce and Cpl White.
