Mixed Fortunes For Forces Footballers In President's Cup

The UKAF Ladies and RAF combined teams had mixed results as they hosting Dutch opposition at RAF Cosford.

A 2-1 win for the women's side started the day off well for the British teams, but a 4-0 hammering for the RAF players showed how good the Netherlands team were.

The women’s result meant a third consecutive year where the President’s Cup was won by the UKAF team.

Ciara Boylan’s first-half goal came from a deft Lois Jacobs corner, but the Dutch team equalised in the second half.

Rachel Rigby’s header was enough to seal a 2-1 win and retain the UKAF Ladies’ place as President's Cup winners.

In the men’s game, the match was halted due to a quick change of weather as thunder and lightning filled the skies with the score at 1-0 to the Dutch team.

Upon restarting, the visitors scored three more to seal a comfortable result.
