Royal Navy through to second round after five-goal thriller in Hampshire Cup

The Royal Navy senior men’s football team are through to the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup after a 3-2 win over Alresford Town.

The team battled changeable conditions with Gary Hird, Elliot Holmes and Jack Wright getting themselves onto the scoresheet.

The Navy entered the tournament for the first time last season where they went all the way to the quarter-finals.

The victory over Alresford books them a second-round tie against Baffins Milton Rovers while the Army will play their first-round fixture against Cove on 25 September in Aldershot.
