An historic event: First ever RAF darts championship announced for May

Since being made official in the Forces world, darts has gone from strength to strength in the military.
The British Army crowned their first champion in November in Jasper Scarrott, the Navy will crown their first champion this weekend so it's only right that the RAF join the flight club.
The first ever RAF championships will take place at RAF Cosford on 28 May with regulars and reservists all invited to show their skills.

The winner will not only be the first RAF champion, but they'll also qualify for this summer's Operation Bullseye event and also receive a spot at the 2027 PDC Q-School.
Operation Bullseye will take place at Bradmoor Farm on 2 July with military players getting the chance to team up with professional stars such as Chris Dobey and Glen Durrant.
The RAF Darts Association said: "Having a globally recognised name in darts supporting service sport is a huge statement for how far RAF Darts has come and where it is heading.
"This isn’t just for the highest averages or elite players. It’s about inclusion, opportunity and bringing the entire RAF darts community together.
"Whether you’re new to the oche or a regular inter station winter league player, this is your chance to be part of history."
