RAF dominates snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom in Meribel to end Team Thursday
The RAF have dominated the snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS) at Meribel.
Both the Air Force men and women won the team event at the Inter Services Snow Sports Championships.
A world away from the Slopestyle which took place on Wednesday - the riders have to adjust to a steep, icy and unforgiving slope under the lights - but some people have made it their speciality.
The men's winner, Staff Sergeant Dave Grant, claimed his third PGS title in as many years.
He told BFBS: "I enjoy it the most because it's just me and the course, I kind of ignore who I'm racing and just go for it myself, which you don't get in boarder cross - you could be taken out by someone else - and Slopestyle, I guess it's just you and the course as well, but I just like going left and right."
There was another familiar face on top of the podium in the women’s race - Corporal Natalie Fields won the boarder cross, came second in Slopestyle and claimed a very tight victory in the PGS.
Fields enjoyed her first year as team captain: "To come to the end of the week, successfully with multiple podiums for individuals, multiple team wins, I am so proud of the team that I have brought with me this year, to compete at the Inter Services, and we'll do it again next year."
