Royal Air Force karting teams pull an all-nighter to compete in 24-hour race

Two RAF karting teams, made up of 11 drivers, have taken part in the British 24-hour race on Teeside.
The event sees 89 karts race around the track in Middlesbrough for a full 24 hours with drivers swapping out to take shifts in the race.
The RAF Vulcans team in kart 122 put in an impressive performance to finish in 20th with their best lap coming just three into the event.

They managed 1,070 laps in the race, won by a team from Nexus Sport.
Elsewhere, the RAF Spitfires team, which includes 2023 UKAF Premier runner-up Jack Watson, finished lower down the order in 74th.
The event comes towards the end of the UK Armed Forces Karting season with two more rounds of the military championship in Kent and Cumbria still to come.
