RAF rider speeds to victory as Inter Services Motorcycle Road Racing title race heats up

There was an exciting twist in the Inter Services Motorcycle Road Racing title race at Knockhill.

The RAF's Kenneth Macleod, who was 25th in the standings after the last round at Cadwell Park, qualified in third but performed well in the race to finish on top spot of the podium at the Scottish circuit.

Championship leader Dean Turner, also from the RAF, qualified in pole position but a disastrous afternoon ended with him not finishing the race and failing to pick up any points.

However, his nearest challengers also failed to take advantage as Sam Foster (Army) wasn't in Scotland to compete and Alan Sharp (RAF) could only finish fifth after qualifying in ninth.

It was a strong weekend for the Army's Kieran Wood who qualified and finished in second, while the RAF's Matthew Maynard will be pleased with a spot on the podium after an impressive drive.

Liam Hanson was the highest of three Navy riders involved as he finished in 16th.
