Navy Volleyball shocks RAF with dominant win in Inter Services opener

Watch: The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force kick off their Inter Services Volleyball campaigns

The Royal Navy men's volleyball team have won their Inter Services opener in a shock defeat against a historically dominant Royal Air Force squad.

The Navy, who haven't won the Inter Services since 2015, defeated the RAF in three straight sets with the scores of 25-19, 23-25 and 25-16.

With the Inter Services title now wide open the Navy could win the title if they go on to beat the Army, whilst the RAF have a hill to climb as they must beat the RAF in order to stay in the title race.

Meanwhile, in the women's game, the RAF soared to a three straight-set victory against the Navy with the scores of 5-25, 25-6 and 11-25.

The Navy, who are still a development team, can no longer win the Inter Services title after losing an earlier match against the Army in January.

The RAF will host the Army at RAF Cranwell on 17 April in what could be a thrilling title-deciding match against two very competitive teams.
