Army soldier who has stormed to the top of Modern Pentathlon hoping for Olympics spot

Watch: Will Kerenza Bryson fly the Army flag at the 2024 Olympics?

An Army athlete has risen to the top level of Modern Pentathlon and is hoping for a place at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Second Lieutenant Kerenza Bryson is third in the sport's world rankings and is heading to Cairo, Egypt, next week for the World Cup.

A good result could confirm a place at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer after she reached her qualification quota with a bronze medal at the World Championships last year.

"It was amazing to have a home crowd and all my family and friends there," said the Army reservist.

"That kind of ticks that quota spot for me so now it's just a case of defending that position."

In an exclusive interview with BFBS Sport's Julian Evans, the reigning Army Sportswoman of the Year revealed all about her life as a junior doctor as well as the advantages her military experiences give her in her sport.

You can watch that interview in the featured video above.
