Army defend Inter Services netball title after tough battle with RAF
The British Army have retained their Inter Services title after a tough and closely fought game against the Royal Air Force in Aldershot.
Coming in as the defending champions, the Army had a difficult task on their hands as the RAF proved themselves to be challenging opponents at the Inter Services in 2023.
But a nervous start by both teams in the first quarter didn’t see any gain an early advantage, with the RAF narrowly leading the Army 4-7 in the first fifteen minutes.

Following a slow start to the game the Army began to make inroads in the second quarter, surpassing the RAF to lead 18-11 going into half time.
The RAF have shown vast improvements within heir squad over the years, and they showed their depth in the third quarter to claw back the points deficit to trail the Army 27-21 going into the final fifteen minutes.
And despite their valiant efforts to cause an Inter Services upset, the Army proved to still be the dominant team in Armed Forces netball as they won by a narrow 36-29 to successfully defend their Inter Services title.
The Army's victory in the open category rounds off a clean sweep for the Army at the 2024 Inter Services, as they also took home titles in the development, masters and the men’s categories.
