
Record audiences for BFBS on huge weekend for military sport

The online audience for the British military's prestigious Army v Navy rugby match was up 53% on last year.
The annual clash at Twickenham Stadium is broadcast live by BFBS Forces News on YouTube and Facebook, and on BFBS TV for service personnel.
The men's and women's games on Saturday, which are part of the Inter Service Championship, were watched by 143,000. A further 500,000 watched highlights of the gripping men's contest, including the British Army snatching a win from the Royal Navy with a last-minute try.
The rugby was just one part of a festival of sport exclusively on BFBS over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Thousands tuned in to watch Nepal's national team play in the UK.
BFBS supports the British military's Gurkha community with Nepali-language TV and radio.
Two matches from Nepal's UK tour attracted an audience of more than 650,000 over the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Monday, the Nepalese team took on England C in the military town of Aldershot, and the BFBS broadcast was watched on YouTube and Facebook by 454,000.
Their game on Friday against the British Army, which was additionally broadcast with Nepali commentary, was in all viewed by more than 200,000.

For the first time, the rugby championship is also being shown on RugbyPass.
The culmination of the tournament comes down to a decider next Saturday when the Army takes on the RAF.
