1st Battalion Royal Welsh have been crowned Army Premiership rugby champions for the first time in 14 years.

The Tidworth-based team battled back from trailing against fellow finalists The Stormers before eventually winning 25-15.

Victory in Aldershot is a reversal of fortunes for the sides after the Thorney Island outfit beat their Royal Welsh rivals in last year's final.

The Stormers are team made up of soldiers from 16 Regiment Royal Artillery and 12 Regiment Royal Artillery and saw two tries from Antonio Rede during the match.

However, 1 Royal Welsh's trio of scores from Isaveli Loloma, Ben Bulubuluwale and Dan Moore saw them take the trophy.
