The British Army have retained their title in the LIT Super Series Sevens Tournament in the fourth and final round at Bury St Edmunds.

The series, which is renowned for attracting top-level talent from across the UK, saw the Army go up against power-packed elite teams where they can further cement their name in the sevens landscape.

The Army entered the tournament as the defending champions having won the title in 2024.

The men in red kicked things off in the pool stages, seeing off the BOOM Beavers with a 31-10 win.

Oxfam Nextlot were their next challenge, who they also successfully saw off with a 19-7 win.

But a 31-14 loss to Preseli Babas meant the Army would not top the ranks in their pool, finishing second behind Preseli Babas overall.

In the quarterfinals, the Army were back on form with a 21-12 win to power past Apache, which saw them into the semi-final where they also had a strong showing with a 21-12 victory over Shotgun Rugby.

In the final, the Army went head-to-head with Preseli Babas again and a 34-0 loss meant that the reds finished the day second overall, but it was more than enough to see them clinch the overall series title for the second year running.

Speaking to Army Rugby Union, head coach Corporal Joseva Nayacavou said: "This title means a lot to us. To defend the crown shows the depth of talent and commitment in our setup.

"Every player, coach, and staff member has contributed to this success. We're proud to represent the Army on this stage and bring the trophy home once again."

Director of Army Rugby Captain Jeff Howard added: "Back-to-back titles in a series of this calibre is no small feat.

"It reflects the professionalism of our players and the strength of the Army Rugby Union's development pathway. It's an achievement that highlights the excellence and discipline that Army sport is known for."
