International debut: Army rugby star wins first cap and earns silver medal for Malta 7s

Army rugby union star Lance Corporal Joseph Walker has made his international debut for Malta at the Rugby Europe 7s in Andorra.
The weekend's action ended with Malta reaching the Conference 1 final and LCpl Walker starting the match which saw Monaco win 24-5.
In the pool stage, an opening 24-17 defeat to Serbia cost Malta top spot, but they recovered with back-to-back wins over Finland and pool winners Austria.

In the semi-finals, they took on the Andorran hosts and a nervy match saw Malta win by just three points in a 10-7 scoreline.
However, it would be only a silver medal for LCpl Walker on his international debut with the final defeat and the performances saw Malta earn promotion in the competition.
