Royal Navy's Inter Service preparations hits a bump following defeat to Hartpury BUCS
The Royal Navy men's senior team have suffered a blowing 31-22 defeat to Hartpury BUCS Rugby as they continue their build-up to the Inter Service Championships.
The Senior Service played an entertaining and high-speed match in the first half, with a try scored by right-wing Jay Toogood.
But the Hartpury side made big gains in the first half, and they lead the Navy by 10 points with a 17-7 score at half time.
The Navy tried to come back in the second half, with tries scored by Jack Davis, Harry Mayes and Will Rigelsford.
But come the full-time whistle, the Hartpury side managed to hold off a charging Navy side and walked away with a 31-22 win over the Senior Service.
The Royal Navy will next play the Marine Nationale at the Stade Mayol in Toulon, France, on 28 March.
They will then take on the Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park on 8 April, in what will be their final fixture before they play their first Inter Service fixture against the Royal Air Force at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens on 18 April.
