Soldiers Train At Rangers FC

One of Scotland's biggest football clubs has been helping a team from the British Army prepare for a big game.

Soldiers from The 3rd Battalion The Rifles (3 RIFLES) were treated to a training session with Rangers who are currently leading the Championship table.

Putting them through their paces were coaches Billy Kirkwood and Colin Stewart but also a man who has seen his fair share of action on the pitch. Former Scotland international and Rangers and Kilmarnock player Ian Durrant.
"My Uncle served in the Navy, so we do have a connection in terms of the armed forces. It was great to see them, and I think they enjoyed it..."

This has been the best football season in recent history for 3 RIFLES and this week they take on 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (1 YORKS) in the semi finals of the Army Challenge Cup.

Ali Gibson caught up with the Edinburgh based troops at Murray Park.
