Adam Baird impresses in Sigulda as Taylor Lawrence eyes World Championships

Royal Marines Taylor Lawrence and Adam Baird have been in action in the 2-man bobsleigh events at the World Cup and European Championships in Sigulda, Latvia.
In the World Cup event Lawrence and teammate Brad Hall piloted GB1 bobsleigh to seventh place with a total time of 1:40.20 after two runs.
Baird piloted GB2 along with Jens Hullah where they totalled a time of 1:40.82 after two runs to finish seventeenth.
The European Championship event took place on the following day, where Mne Baird partnered with Luka Williams to better their time from the previous day, with a 1:39.71 to finish thirteenth overall.

Mne Lawrence and Hall however took the decision to withdraw from the 2-man bobsleigh European Championship event as a precautionary measure as Hall continues to recover from back surgery from late last year.
In a post on Instagram, Hall said: "Not the best day at the track today, struggled at the start and not the cleanest runs down the track.
"I knew this season would be tough coming back from surgery, but I didn’t realise how tough! We’ve decided to pull out of the European Championships race tomorrow to rest and recuperate as my body is in desperate need of some TLC.
"We’ll be back in Altenberg the week after next, so we’re not done yet! Just got to work smarter and not harder!"
The pair have their eyes set on the World Cup in Altenberg as they continue to build up for the World Championships in Winterberg, which take place from 24 February to 3 March.
