Royal Marine Lance Corporal Taylor Lawrence has finished sixth in the four-man bobsleigh at the IBSF World Championships in Winterberg, Germany.

LCpl Lawrence, along with Brad Hall, Greg Cackett and Leon Greenwood, finished with a total time of 3:35.70 as the top three podium places saw an all-German lockout with Francesco Friedrich's team winning the gold medal.

The GB1 sled team came into this year's World Championships as the reigning silver medalists from 2023.

The first half of their season was hampered with injuries, with Brad Hall requiring surgery on his back to fix a prolapsed disc.

LCpl Lawrence and Hall grabbed an impressive World Championship fourth place last week in the two-man event, showing signs of progress back to top form post-injury.

Prior to competing in the four-man, Lawrence received a promotion to lance corporal while out in Winterberg, which was presented to him by the Commanding Officer of HMS Temeraire, Lieutenant Colonel Roly Brading RM.

Also competing in the four-man event in Winterberg was fellow Royal Marine Adam Baird, as well as 2 PARA's Private Callum Dixon, who finished 18th overall with a combined time of 3:38.40.
