RAF Typhoons in live fire strafing sortie on exercise with Nato allies in Romania

Royal Air Force Typhoons have successfully conducted a live firing exercise whilst on an exercise with Nato allies in Romania.
The RAF's 140 Expeditionary Air Wing aircraft joined the live fire strafing sortie in Smardan, Romania, as part of Nato's Exercise Dacian Strike 24 (DAST24).
They joined allies from Romania, Italy, France, Poland and the USA to demonstrate how militaries can work together in the air and from land.
DAST24 focuses on developing Air Land Integration (ALI).
The division artillery and infantry fighting vehicles, Romanian SOCAT helicopters, Hawks and Royal Air Force Typhoons came together, watched by Commanders.

French Army personnel began the demonstration with Caesar Howitzers to mark targets for RAF Typhoons to strike, followed by Romanian Army artillery, Romanian Air Force Hawks, and rotary attack helicopters.
The final wave saw Romanian artillery strikes allowing Polish Army ground assault units to move towards the target area.
This is one of many Nato exercises the RAF Typhoons have taken part in while deployed on Operation Biloxi – Nato's enhanced air policing in the Black Sea region.
