Royal International Air Tattoo cancelled due to military action in Middle East

The Royal International Air Tattoo has been cancelled this year due to the ongoing military action in the Middle East.
Organisers said there was uncertainty over access to RAF Fairford because of the US operation against Iran.
The event is the world's largest air show with up to 200,000 people gathering at the base in Gloucestershire to watch.
Hundreds of aircraft are usually on display over the three-day event, but this year's Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) – which was due to be held between 17 and 19 July – will not take place.
The organisers say the decision was made after extensive discussions with the RAF and US Air Force.
Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises Gavin Gager has promised the show will return next year "stronger than ever".
He said: "We know how much RIAT means to everyone, and recognise how disappointing this news will be. It is a disappointment we feel just as strongly.
"We would like to thank everyone for their support, loyalty, and understanding. Looking ahead, we remain fully committed to returning in 2027, and to making sure RIAT comes back stronger than ever.
"We very much look forward to welcoming you all again."
People who have bought tickets to the 2026 event will have the option to roll them over to the 2027 show.
