HMS Prince of Wales announces change to planned arrival to Liverpool

HMS Prince of Wales has announced a change in her scheduled arrival time to Liverpool.
Due to the weather, the second Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier and Royal Navy Fleet Flagship will be arriving at its destination on Sunday morning.
The vessel announced the change of plan on social media.
HMS Prince of Wales said: “Due to predicted inclement weather on Monday, we plan to arrive in Liverpool this Sunday morning, around 10am.
“As always, subject to change.”
The ship was recently named as the new flagship for the Navy, taking over the role from HMS Queen Elizabeth.
The 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier will officially begin its new duties during the visit to Liverpool, although there will be no official handover ceremony.
She is also preparing for the upcoming UK Carrier Strike Group 2025 operation, which will take the vessel and her task force east of the Suez Canal on a global mission.
The vessel will remain in Liverpool for a week, and the first time since March 2020 the ship's schedule has allowed her to visit Merseyside.
