Iran's support for the Russian military is likely to grow, the MOD says.

UK intelligence suggests that Moscow is trying to obtain more weapons from Tehran, including hundreds of ballistic missiles.

In return, the MOD says Russia is likely to be offering Iran an "unprecedented level of military and technical support that is transforming their defence relationship".

Rishi Sunak and Volodymyr Zelensky discussed Russia's latest attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure in a phone call on Friday.

The two leaders spoke amid a series of Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy facilities and other key infrastructure as the Kremlin said it is up to the Ukrainian President to end the war.

Earlier this week, Russia had reportedly returned to using suicide attack drones provided by Iran.

It was the first time in three weeks there had been reports of attacks from the Iranian-provided drones, the Ministry of Defence said in an intelligence update posted on Twitter.

"These events remain to be verified, but it is likely that Russia exhausted its previous stock of several hundred Shahed-131s and 136s and has now received a resupply," the MOD added.
