Latest-generation Russian Su-57 stealth fighter hit for first time, according to Ukrainian forces

Ukrainian forces have targeted a latest-generation Russian Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter jet inside the Russian border for the first time, according to Kyiv's GUR defence intelligence agency.
The fighter jet was struck at Russia's Akhtubinsk air base – 589km from the frontline.
In a post on X, the GUR did not specify how the Su-57 was hit or by which unit of the Ukrainian military, but it did provide a satellite image, which it said confirmed the attack.
The two photographs show before and after the strike, with debris scattered around the Akhtubinsk airfield and the outline of what appears to be the Su-57 stealth jet.
The Russian ministry of defence has not commented on the incident, but a popular pro-war military blogger in the country, who calls himself Fighterbomber and focuses on aviation, said the report of the strike on the Su-57 was correct and that it had been done by a drone.
The SU-57 Felon is a multi-purpose fighter bomber with stealth defence and striking capabilities.
It is Russia's most advanced fifth-generation supersonic combat jet, with low-observability features and highly advanced intelligence-gathering sensors on the wings.
