The UK's sitting volleyball team have missed out on the medals at the Invictus Games in Canada.

Despite a golden start in the sitting volleyball competition in London in 2014, Team UK then recorded three silvers in a row at Orlando, Toronto and Sydney.

In The Hague, they didn't even make it out of the pool and last time out in Dusseldorf they also just missed out on the medals

But come a new games, the outlook is always positive.

Team UK had commanding wins over Team Afghan Unconquered and the host nation Canada in the group stages, which led them on to face Nigeria in the semi-finals.

Nigeria, joined the Invictus Community of Nations in 2022 - becoming the first African country to do so.

It seems as though they have a flair for sitting volleyball, with  the green machine absolutely dominated Team UK - winning in straight sets 21-7 and 21-8.

The Brits went on to play Ukraine In the bronze medal match, with the yellow and blue supporters drowning out any other noise.

Team Ukraine took the first set 21-9 with relative ease but the UK bounced back in the second.

Things were neck and neck for a while before a superior Ukraine side pulled away and took the win 2 sets to nothing.

Nigeria and new Invictus member Brazil met in the gold medal match where it went the way of the South American country - a jubilant debut year in the Invictus Games for them.
