Ukraine war: Russian drones being used to 'spread propaganda via text messages'

The war in Ukraine has seen unprecedented use of drones in warfare, rewriting the playbook on using unmanned combat aerial vehicles.

With both the Ukrainian and Russian military using drones, military leaders and strategists in the west are watching the conflict carefully to learn more about the use of the weapons.

We spoke to Dr Matthew Powell, an Aerial Warfare Expert, told Forces News the use of drones has seen a form of electronic warfare emerge which may not have been predicted.

Dr Powell said Russian forces are using drones to not only block Ukrainian mobile signal on the battlefield, but bombard them with propaganda via text messages.
