Exercise Warrior Shield: US and South Korean forces practise air assaults

Watch: US aircraft and personnel join South Korean counterparts for joint exercise.

US personnel and aircraft have exercised alongside their South Korean counterparts in Exercise Warrior Shield.

The exercise, which took place in South Korea, saw soldiers conduct air assault and ground operations, and is the US military's largest field exercise on the Korean peninsula in five years.

Footage released by the US Department of Defense shows Chinook and Apache helicopters taking part, with images showing Hellfire missiles being loaded onto a Chinook by an Atlas loader.

The troops also used deployable bridges to transfer military vehicles across water on the exercise.
