US Military Academy West Point hit by extreme flash flooding

US Military Academy, West Point has experienced flash flooding, "the likes of which have not been seen in recent history," according to a statement.
West Point, the US's answer to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, returns to "normal operations tomorrow", with the clean-up of the storm continuing.
"We remain a strong community working together to ensure that all staff, faculty, cadets, and family members within the West Point community are safe," the US academy posted.

Images of the impact of the flooding – including collapsed roads and landslips – at the US Military Academy at West Point were posted across social media, with many sharing their concerns.
Yesterday, the academy was focused on assessing the damage and starting the clean-up operation with local and state emergency responders on site and providing the West Point community with "steadfast support".
Lieutenant General Steven W Gilland, US Military Academy Superintendent, in a statement, thanked all those who "lent a helping hand, worked through the night, and sacrificed being with their families".
