Ascension: Britain's Atlantic Outpost

Ascension Island is one of the most remote postings in the world, sitting hundreds of miles from any other land mass in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

More than 3,000 people used to reside there during the island's peak, but now it's home to just under 800 – with 20 of those British military personnel.

Forces TV's Carla Prater visited Ascension as it marked 200 years of British rule, to see what makes the island so special.
