Next Generation Of Body Armour On Show At Tech Event

Innovation will be key to equipping the British Army of the future.

That's according to the Minister for Defence Procurement, Harriett Baldwin, and the Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Nick Carter.

Both made keynote speeches at this year's Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) event, which exhibits the latest in current and future military kit.

Amongst the new tech on show was the Virtus system - the British Army's next generation of combat body armour (see above).

Using the latest materials, it's lighter, with an integrated spine that helps distribute weight evenly across a soldier's body - leaving them more agile to move and fight.

It's just one innovation that's helping to equip and support the British Army.
