Royal Yorkshire Regiment honours the fallen of the Kosovo War 25 years on

A field service of remembrance has been held by members of the Royal Yorkshire Regiment in honour of personnel who lost their lives during the Kosovo War in 1999.
The parade included troops from the regiment and members of Nato's Kosovo Force (KFOR).
Corporal Bishwaraj Rai attended the ceremony to honour and remember his uncle, Sergeant Balaram Rai, who was killed during the conflict.
Cpl Rai, a member of 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles, and currently attached to the Yorks Battlegroup in Kosovo, laid a wreath in his memory 25 years after the conflict ended.
Sgt Rai and Lieutenant Gareth Evans were killed by Nato bombs while the men were attempting to move the devices from a school.
They were the first British soldiers to be killed in Kosovo.
The involvement of the UK Armed Forces in 1999 eventually brought about the end of the conflict.

The service took place at the Memorial for British Soldiers, 14 miles west of Pristina.
The Kosovo War saw Nato launch a bombing campaign against nationalist Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic's forces.
The British Army was eventually deployed as a peacekeeping force in the country.
Since the end of the conflict, more than 200 peacekeepers have died during the mission.
