Soldiers and horses pictured rehearsing ahead of King Charles III's coronation

Dozens of soldiers and horses of the Household Cavalry's mounted regiments were spotted on the streets of London, training ahead of King Charles III's coronation.
Members of both regiments could be seen riding alongside and providing an escort for royal coaches from Buckingham Palace and along The Mall.
The Army says the rehearsal was to "ensure timings and pacing was correct" for the upcoming coronation being held on the 6 May 2023.
This comes after the Ministry of Defence announced that more than 6,000 men and women of the United Kingdom's Armed Forces will be participating in the historic coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla next month.
Soldiers, sailors and aviators from across the UK and Commonwealth will be involved in two processions accompanying their Majesties to and from Westminster Abbey, where the coronation takes place – the largest military ceremonial operation for 70 years.
Nearly 400 Armed Forces personnel from at least 35 Commonwealth countries will also be on parade to mark the historic moment.

The coming weeks will see military personnel busy in rehearsals for a display of "pageantry, professionalism and pride" to honour their new Commander-in-Chief, King Charles III, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) said.

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is a ceremonial regiment based in central London and conducts state ceremonial occasions and performs the daily duty of providing The King's Life Guard at Horse Guards.
