BFBS receives Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold award

Military charity BFBS' commitment to the Armed Forces community has been recognised with a gold award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
Ben Chapman, BFBS CEO, said: "As a military charity and media organisation, our support and commitment to the whole Armed Forces community is at the heart of what we do, so we're delighted to be recognised for our work with this gold award.
"Alongside our mission to entertain, inform, connect, and champion the UK Armed Forces, their families and veterans, BFBS also provides opportunities of employment and training for those in the military community.
"And, as a signatory of the Covenant, BFBS appreciates the importance of this awards scheme."
To apply for a Gold Award, BFBS had to meet certain criteria, including the provision of 10 extra paid days leave for reservists and HR policies for reservists, veterans and partners of those who serve.
The charity, Forces News' parent company, brings entertainment, news, sport and information services to the military, their families and veterans worldwide.

BFBS keeps people in touch, building morale among the military overseas and offers them a valuable connection to life back home and a way to share experiences and build communities.
The media organisation is also the home of military content, championing the military by keeping their activities in the public eye on its forces digital channels and overseas TV offering, BFBS TV.
BFBS' commercial services, which provide income for the charity, span training, digital and creative services and pioneering technology solutions that enable media and communication in the hardest-to-reach places.

BFBS also advocates the benefits of supporting the community, by encouraging other organisations to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and engage with the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
This year, other organisations recognised for this award include Marks & Spencer Plc, Motorola Solutions UK Ltd, Hilton and Toyota Manufacturing UK.
