Dynamic Manta: A close look at Nato's premier anti-submarine exercise

Dynamic Manta: Nato's key anti-submarine exercise

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Etna on Sicily's east coast, submarines, maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters and surface ships have taken part in what the alliance has described as its premier anti-submarine warfare.

Exercise Dynamic Manta - which ran from 23 February until 6 March - involved 10 allied nations, including the UK, Canada, France, Germany and the US, all demonstrating Nato's ability to operate seamlessly across air, surface, and sub-surface domains.

This year's iteration also included the integration of an Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV) showcasing the alliance's commitment to innovation in the face of today's evolving battlefield.

In our video above, BFBS Forces News takes a closer look at the exercise, which is helping to safeguard vital maritime routes, ensure the free movement of ships and enable a rapid, effective response to any threat to allied territory or interests.
