The Army In Scotland Gets New Operational Commander

A new operational commander for Scottish troops took over control of 51st Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Scotland today.
Brigadier Robin Lindsay took over from Brigadier Gary Deakin.
Brigadier Lindsay has previously commanded The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (2 SCOTS), where he led them, as Battlegroup Commander, on a tour of duty in Helmand, Afghanistan in 2013.
He was also the Second in Command of The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS) and served as a Battlegroup Chief of Staff in Afghanistan in his role with 3 SCOTS.
Brigadier Lindsay said: “It's a real honour, I've served with 51 Brigade a couple of times in the past from the early days when I was a young officer at Fort George."
"It's a real honour to serve with Scottish soldiers in 51 Infantry Brigade again."
Brigadier Deakin hands over command of the Brigade on promotion to Major General, as he leaves Scotland after almost three years in the role.
He will now move on to a senior post in NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters in Naples, Italy.
