Celebrating The Vehicles That Helped Win WW2

A festival of war and peace is taking place in Kent which celebrates the people, the equipment and the vehicles that helped win the Second World War.

The show claims to have the largest display of military vehicles in the world, and the crowds have come from all over the world to have a look.

Hundreds of tanks from all over the world rolled out across the field in Kent to display their power.

It was a pageant of military history from the Second World War on and part of a huge open air festival of nostalgia.

As well as armoured vehicles, there was a flypast from Spitfires and Hurricanes.

There were also historical re-enactments from the Home Front section of the festival.

The rarest military vehicle on show was this German armoured assault vehicle - a Sturm Geshutz - which saw duty at El Alamein. It’s currently valued at roundabout a million pounds.

All part of this festival remembering a nation at war, and in peacetime.
