Forces News has paid a visit to the Commando Gunners  – 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery – in their Plymouth home as they prepare to turn 60.

'The Citadel' is a unique base on a hill, surrounded by embattlements and originally built to keep out Dutch invaders.

The Commando Gunners were born in 1962 when 29 Field Regiment Royal Artillery was chosen to re-role – offering Army firepower to the Royal Marines.
